SC-QuickStart offers several superior methods for launching your favorite applications, opening documents/websites/folders/directories and starting common Windows tasks. Forget the cumbersome Windows start menu! Now you can launch your favorite tasks and programs using SC-QuickStart's convenient control panel, a system tray menu bar or with handy keyboard shortcuts called hotkeys. SC-QuickStart will allow you to simplify and speed up work on your computer considerably by providing you quick and simple access to the most frequently used actions. Create so-called QuickStart objects for the frequently used actions with an easy wizard. Hotkeys are system wide function keys that can be linked to any QuickStart object. For instance you could link SHIFT+U to the task 'dial the internet'. Then you could dial the internet any time, from any application, just with pressing SHIFT+U. This is much easier than pointing to and clicking on Start -> Settings ->Network and dial up adapters -> Your connection -> Dial, each and every time that you want to connect to the internet. This is just an example, lets see how a computer session could elapse with the use of hotkeys:
You press CTR+F5 to execute your favorite e-mail client. After you've checked your e-mail you decide to visit Soft-Central on the Web so you hit CTR+F3 to open http://www.soft-central.net. A simle press on CTR+F4 disconnects you from the internet, you empty the recycle bin with CTR+ALT+E before shutting down Windows with CTR+F10.
Once you are used to the hotkeys that you've specified you'll notice that he keyboard is much more efficient than the mouse for starting commands. Certainly if you know common Windows function keys like CTR+P for printing a document or ALT+F4 for closing a program. For those unfamiliar with common Windows function keys an overview of frequently used function keys is included in the help file of SC-QuickStart.
With only one keystroke you can:
- Launch programs
- Open folders with Explorer
- Open websites (URL's) with the default browser
- Open documents/files with the default registered application
- Dial the internet/hangup
- Empty the recycle bin
- Open control panel
- Shutdown/reboot/logoff
- Eject/close cd-drive(s)
- Start screensaver
- Change display resolution
- Close all active programs
- Send e-mail message
